DONCASTER 0-1 AFC BOURNEMOUTH

An goal from Brett Pitman in the first half gave Bournemouth their first away win this season.

Bournemouth have been crushed 6-1 and 4-1 away by Watford and Huddersfield, and straight away wanted to stop any chance of defeat.Brett Pitman met Charlie Daniels' cross but headed wide.

Fan favourite Brett Pitman re-signed for the Cherries in January this year and has now scored 17 times in 21 games. He added to the tally on the half-hour mark after heading home Charlie Daniels' free kick.

Rovers looked more promising in the second half, and tried their luck. But it wasn't to be-Richie Wellens fired a shot over after 55 minutes.

Bournemouth then went extremely close.Lewis Grabban's header was two yards from Ross Turnbull's goal, and the home keeper did superbly to tip the ball wide.

The stoppage time in the second half was a sign to Rovers that nothing was to come, but it was the away fans who will travel down south happier.

VIEW FROM THE TOUCHLINE

DONCASTER STRIKER CHRIS BROWN
"Today we slipped below standards and all need to look at ourselves and improve as a unit.It was disappointing, we didn't start very well and that was what triggered our downfall"

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"It was very poor and disappointing and the standards that we set earlier in the season were not met today. We huffed and puffed today without having any real quality and the energy levels were low."

BOURNEMOUTH BOSS EDDIE HOWE
"It is a massively important win for us.We were regarded as the likely losers today considering the last two away games we have been crushed. We were going to be asked about the last two games, but the hard part is that people think you're lying when you say you're pleased with the performance today".
