Meanwhile,Mauricio Pochettino's controlling Southampton demolished Barnsley at Oakwell.Gaston Ramirez added the fifth goal.Burnley also are through after beating rivals Preston 2-0.
An early goal from struggling Carlisle was cancelled out by Leicester City.Chris Wood's hat-trick,Lloyd Dyer's volley and Anthony Knockaert scored for The Foxes.Leicester's rivals Derby also went into the pot with a 5-0 win over League One Brentford;Will Hughes was amongst the scorers.
Doncaster were kicked out by Leeds,whereas Huddersfield came back to beat Charlton.Adam Hammill got the winner in a 3-2 win for Mark Robins' team.
Leyton Orient may have done fantastic to keep it 0-0 with Hull,but in extra time,young Robbie Brady scored a headed winner.
Liverpool were 2-0 up League One Notts County,but striker Yoann Arquin and 17-year-old Adam Coombes pulled back late on.However,Danny Sturridge and Jordan Henderson scored to make it 4-2 full time.
There was a total of nine goals at Carrow Road,where Norwich thrashed Bury 6-3.Bury fought back too late with goals from Anton Forrester,Jesse Reindorf and a strike from William Edjenguele.But one of the upsets was Peterborough's annihilation of Nigel Adkins' Reading.A great 6-0 win was helped to by goals from Jack Payne and Lee Tomlin.
Another upset was Swindon knocking out QPR in London.A free kick from Nile Ranger and teen Alex Pritchard rounded up the goals.Up north,MK Dons looked like beating a Sunderland side managed by Paolo Di Canio.Despite being 2-0 up,Sunderland went on to win 4-2.
In other news,West Ham beat Cheltenham 2-1 and West Brom debutant Saido Berhandio scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Newport.
All Birmingham,Tranmere Rovers and Fulham won on penalties.
On Wednesday,Accrington were knocked out by top flight Cardiff in a 2-0 win for the Bluebirds.However,Danish forward Andreas Cornelius was injured in the game.
Aston Villa also went through with a comfy 3-0 win at home to Rotherham.Andreas Weinmann scored the first goal.Everton won,but not so comfortably.They had to go into extra time to see off Stevenage in a 2-1 win.
Both Ameobis were on the scoresheet as Newcastle United went through away at Jim Bentley's Morecambe side.
It's getting worse now for Millwall-they haven't won yet in the league and were booted out by Nottingham Forest,despite a Liam Feeney header in the second half.
Elsewhere,Kenwyne Jones scored at hat-trick as Walsall exited at Stoke's expense and Watford beat Bournemouth 2-0,two weeks after winning 6-1 in the league.
