Born in Edinburgh in 1979,5'9" midfielder Michael started off at Luton Town in 1998 after finishing school.He spent two years at Kenilworth Road before moving to Hereford.
Despite doing well in the West Country,financial struggles saw Michael leave for Yeovil in 2001.He was a key part of the midfield and partnered Lee Johnson.He scored 22 goals in 91 games to eventually gain promotion from the Conference to League Two.
He was snapped up by Donny in July 2003 for £50,000.He finished his first season in Yorkshire as a member of the PFA Team of The Year.His work saw him even earn an international cap for the Scotland B team in 2004.
He left the Rovers for rivals Barnsley in 2006 for £125,000.He was not used regularly and only made 18 appearances for the Reds.He was therefore snapped up by Wolves in January 2007 on a six-month deal.
He moved to Bristol City in 2007 and spent two years with his former Yeovil manager Gary Johnson.He left the club by mutual consent in April 2009 ha of made under 150 appearances for City.Michael then spent two seasons at Coventry before retiring.
He now lives in London with his partner and has several business interests.
