SHAKHTER DENY SHEEP KILLING

Kazakh side Shakhter Karagandy have denied killing a sheep before their Champions League second leg tie against Celtic.

Before every match,Shakhter slaughter a sheep as a tradition, and they did so when they played Celtic in Kazakhstan. They won 2-0.

Shahkter boss Viktor Kumyukov told journalists through an interpreter,"We are going to Scotland, and I'm aware that there are lots of sheep there. But we have to stick to a club tradition and may kill a sheep. It's part of the club."

The club was warned against killing any animal or else they'd face action from Animal Rights campaigns.
