FURMAN DELIGHT AT NATIONAL PRIDE

Doncaster's Dean Furman has spoken of his pride to represent his nation of South Africa at major competitions.

The midfielder,25,says that his debut was an absolute dream and motivated him to be better at his own game-against Brazil in September 2012.

"It got even better for me",says Furman who although he moved to London when he was four still has a slight South African accent,"I earned the man of the match performance in a game against Mozambique a few days after my debut."

Dean went on to play for Bafana Bafana at the African Cup of Nations,hosted in his home nation.Although they were knocked out by Mali in the quarter final,he won man of the match twice.

"My parents,brother Jack and my grandparents are so proud of me for my efforts.I have gone from a Chelsea youth player to a national superstar in nine years."

Dean is also the first white person to play for his country.
