ROVERS LEGEND #15:MARK YATES

Mark is a player who isn't well known by Doncaster fans due to his short stay at Belle Vue,but he enjoyed himself.

Born in Birmingham in 1970,Mark joined Birmingham City in 1988 after he left school.He spent three seasons for his local club before leaving for Burnley in 1991.

However,he couldn't get into the team at Burnley,so left the club on a free transfer.His next move was across the Pennines to Doncaster in 1993.He played as a central midfielder but struggled with a knee injury,only making 34 appearances in one season.

The next moves were big ones.He joined non-league Kidderminster Harriers in 1994 and spent a long five years in Warwickshire.He made a total of 237 appearances at Aggborough and then left for Cheltenham in 1999 for £20,000.He helped the Robins earn promotion in 2002 and left in 2004.
Upon retiring,he had worked part-time as a coach with Coventry until he was made the new Kidderminster boss in 2006.He made former teammate Neil Howarth his assistant.He was regarded as a successful Conference coach who wanted to work with other clubs.

In December 2009,he was made Cheltenham's new manager and took them twice to Wembley.

He now lives in Leamington Spa.
