WATFORD 2-1 DONCASTER

Watford left it late to snatch all three points from Doncaster courtesy of a late penalty from midfield ace Lewis McGugan.

Doncaster were arguably the better team from the start and went very close.Brown whipped a ball into the box which was met by Theo Robinson who put his header wide.Watford then launched in a corner which was dealt with by Bongani Khumalo.

Thirteen minutes gone, and Watford found the net.McGugan perfectly timed a lob over Ross Turnbull to send the home fans into raptures.

It was twenty minutes later that Ikechi Anya could've made it 2-0.However,the Scotsman missed the target.

It was then time for James Husband to scare the Watford defence.A bit of pace saw him evade three defenders before finding Chris Brown, and the striker's shot levelled the scoring before the interval.

Fifty minutes went by and a brighter Doncaster looked more attacking.James Coppinger struck a volley over.Ten minutes later,Lewis McGugan had his free kick tipped over excellently by the Rovers number one.

Just as it looked as though it would be a draw,James Husband tripped up Lloyd Doyley in the box and a penalty was given in added time much to the fury of Paul Dickov, who was sure that he fouled outside the box.

Lewis McGugan did the honours to seal the points.

VIEW FROM THE TOUCHLINE

WATFORD BOSS GIANFRANCO ZOLA
"It would've been considered a win for the away side if they'd have drawn with us.I do feel bad we've denied them what would've been a great away game but the point is,we won."

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"It was not a penalty. We thought that at the time and after seeing it again, not just once but various times from different angles, I just don’t see how the referee can make that call with just a couple of minutes left to go."
