Andy was born in 1964 in Doncaster.After he was released by Barnsley in 1985 as a 21-year-old,he joined Doncaster on a two-year-deal.He was seen as slightly clumsy by the home faithful though.He left in 1988.
After two seasons with Oldham,he left England for Scotland in 1990,and had spells at Dunfermline,St Johnstone and Ardrie United.
He retired in 2000 to become the new goalkeeping coach at Oldham.In 2004,he joined the staff at Ipswich Town and stayed there for four years.He then worked at Huddersfield to develop their reserve goalkeepers and now works for Sheffield Wednesday.
His eldest son Jordan is a familiar face in English football.At 23,he has represented the Scotland national team,won promotion and the top goal scorer in League One for two seasons running.
He now lives in Sheffield with his wife Linda.
