YORK CITY 0-1 DONCASTER ROVERS

Harry Forrester struck in stoppage time to give Doncaster a place in the next round of the Capital One Cup and make it two in two for Dickov's side.Siblings also faced each other-Jamie and John McCombe.

York had the first chance.Anthony Straker found the ball well on the left wing and dribbled into the box, only to strike his shot high into the home end at Bootham Cresent. With fifteen minutes played, the latter missed the target.

Doncaster had a few shots of their own.Coppinger struck the ball straight at York goalkeeper Jason Mooney.Curtis Main then hit a low shot wide of the mark.Luke McCullough headed wide with ten minutes of the first half left.

York played more attacking football in the second half.Russell Penn tested Jed Steer's reflexes early on,forcing the loanee goalkeeper into full stretch.Michael Coulson then began to cause problems with his trickery, but Steer was on his toes to deny the striker.

Forrester came on with ten minutes left and immediately stamped his mark on the game.A chip over the onrushing goalkeeper went over, but only just.

In three minutes of added time, former bartender Mooney thought there'd be an extra thirty minutes with closing time looming. He was wrong-HARRY FORRESTER scored a winner from the edge of the area.

York need to bounce back and focus on the league, but it's round two for Doncaster.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
YORK CITY MANAGER NIGEL WORTHINGTON

“Over the last two games, it shows you how cruel the game of football can be. We have to live with that. There is a lot from that game to take away and get ready for Saturday. We conceded late on at Tranmere and it was tough."

"Obviously the players are disappointed. They put in a lot of hard work. The shape of the team was very good and everyone knew their role."

“They performed at their maximum against a League One side and came away with nothing. That’s the game. It is about how you bounce back.”

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL
DICKOV

"Winning the game tonight was vital on our half.We eventually did it but not the easiest of ways."

"Forrester has a lot of good quality about him and wants to score a lot of goals which is what he did."
