COLCHESTER UNITED 0-1 DONCASTER ROVERS

Kyle Bennett's goal was enough to send Doncaster eighth in League One,whereas lowly Colchester still are yet to win the league after the result at The Weston Homes Community Stadium.

After fifteen minutes of the game,Freddie Sears created enough build-up for George Moncur to head the ball. The West Ham academy loanee was unlucky not to make ends meet and missed the chance.Colchester countered a few minutes later through Jabo Ibehre, who slotted the ball to Sears who laid it off Moncur but his shot was tipped over.

Colchester didn't look like a side in the relegation zone with only one point.Magnus Okuonghae headed a corner onto the bar in what was good dominance by the U's.

In the second half,Marcus Bean's injection of pace was met by Sears. The striker was unlucky not to score and it was looking more and more promising for the home side.Ibehre,on the hour mark, struck a freekick straight at the goalkeeper.Colchester hadn't let Doncaster have one proper chance yet.

Just when Colcheter looked more lively,KYLE BENNETT opened the scoring for Doncaster with a low shot after sixty-five minutes which evaded the defence.

In the last ten minutes,Doncaster really dominated the game and controlled the play.Robinson had a chance to kill the game off with a run into the box but Sam Walker blocked it.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
COLCHESTER BOSS JOE DUNNE

"We aren't anxious about the first win because I feel as though it'll come sooner rather than later.Performance is key in this game and we perform well."

"If we lose,I'm judged for it but if we win then I guess it's papering over the cracks a little bit on our behalf. That's the general reaction amongst the fans and it doesn't bother me."

"It's my job to keep Colchester United a stable club in this league and we are doing that gradually."

DONCASTER MIDFIELDER JAMES COPPINGER

"Colchester tested us in the first half and had the better chances,it has to be said."

"We are just very glad that we managed to pull through and win the game even though it was made difficult at times for us."
