WATFORD 1-2 DONCASTER ROVERS

Doncaster Rovers progressed to the third round of the Capital One Cup after a surprising 2-1 win away at Watford, whose unbeaten start to the season has come to an end.

Lewis McGugan was running the show for the first twenty minutes with his chances. The midfielder struck the crossbar and then hit his freekick wide of the mark.Watford looked like a team who were unbeaten.

It was Doncaster who drew first blood though.Kyle Bennett missed a good chance but it was a penalty by NATHAN TYSON that made it 1-0.Former Rovers player Gabriel Tamas tripped over Bennett after fourteen minutes and Tyson blasted the ball into the net.

After half an hour,LLOYD DYER scored an equalising goal for Guiseppe Sannino's side.Dyer hit his shot low and hard under a powerless loanee goalkeeper Jed Steer.

Doncaster had some more chances, with Evina heading a corner over the bar and James Coppinger hit a shot wide of the goal.Half time, and it was all-square.

In the second half,Watford drove more effort into the match and pushed forward but Doncaster took the lead.Youngster LIAM WAKEFIELD scored his second Doncaster career goal with a tap-in from four yards. There was no stopping the goal at all.

Watford came under heavy pressure and couldn't withstand it at all.Wabara found Furman and he cut through only for his ideas to be foiled by Jonathon Bond.

Both teams had last gasp chances,,but it's a fourth straight away win for Paul Dickov's side.
