DONCASTER ROVERS 1-1 PRESTON NORTH END

Preston Chris Humphrey's volley was cancelled out late on by Nathan Tyson, with the away side surely to be promotion candidates this season.

Doncaster suffered an injury to Rob Jones early on with what looks like a neck problem;more worries for the defence at the Keepmoat. He was replaced by young Liam Wakefield.

Preston knew they needed to attack hard if they want to continue their chances of a promotion, and they did so.Tom Clarke headed into Jed Steer's hands and a free kick by Joe Garner went high and wide.

In the final ten minutes of the first half,Chris Humphrey tested Jed Steer's reflexes and Joe Garner, looking to celebrate signing a new deal in Lancashire, headed the ball onto the bar.

In the second half,Marc De Val Fernandez wanted to score from fourty yards. He hit it over Jamie Jones' bar though just before Paul Gallagher struck his half-volley into the away end.

A goal soon followed, and CHRIS HUMPHREY had to take a bow for it.A Gallagher freekick was punched by Steer,Wabara cleared it as far as Josh Brownhill who saw Humphrey on the edge of the area. The midfielder drilled it into the top left.

Preston then had the upper hand.Jack King ran with the ball and crossed to Gallagher, whose shot was hit wide.Little then found the ball but couldn't connect with ten minutes left.

NATHAN TYSON levelled it up in stoppage time though.Jones got a hand to a looping Bennett cross, but it wasn't strong enough for him and Tyson waited to slot it home.

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV

"We've done well tonight to gain something and now turn our attention to Saturday at Colchester."

"I played at Leeds under Simon Grayson and he has a good CV as a manager.I know he can guide Preston to the Championship this season."
