David Syers has told BBC Lincolnshire that his loan move to Scunthorpe United is showing some promising signs.

The Doncaster midfielder,25,has signed for the League Two promotion contenders on a month's loan, making his debut at home to Cheltenham. And he said the loan was needed.

"Last season was the best of my career with Doncaster winning the league. It was,and still is,the highest status club I've been at yet",Syers said.

"Scunthorpe needed back up and I wanted to a new challenge as a result of a lack of games in the Championship.I am enjoying life at Scunthorpe at the minute and see a good side."
