BORO SACK MANAGER MOWBRAY

Middlesborough have sacked manager Tony Mowbray after three years in charge of the Championship club.

The 49-year-old had his contract terminated today and with the Teeside club only recording three wins this calendar year, the board felt as though change was needed badly.

Former Arsenal player Mowbray took over at Middlesborough in the autumn of 2010 following Gordon Strachan's departure. He aimed to get Middlesborough back in the top flight and got them up to ninth that season.

He since tried time after time to get the club to achieve but it hasn't worked in the past eighteen months and with standards dropping to rock bottom,a change is needed.
