A goalkeeping error from Kasper Schmeichel cost Leicester the points away at Doncaster, their first defeat in five matches.
Leicester started off the brightest in a bid to increase pressure on table-topping QPR and Burnley, and they did that to Doncaster.Andy King struck a fierce volley at Ross Turnbull after ten minutes.
It was on seventeen minutes midfielder Mark Duffy got the game going for the home side. His corner looked as though it had been collected by Schmeichel, only for butterfingers to kick in and he dropped the ball into the net-Peter won't be pleased by that.
Doncaster were inspired by the goal to continue the momentum.Federico Macheda,in his last game for the club, dribbled past Wes Morgan into the box, only for Schmeichel to deny him with his legs.
Something had to give for Leicester in the second half.Jamie Vardy fired wide, and Turnbull's superb punch denied Anthony Knockaert's attempted 30-yard lob.It wasn't usual for the Frenchman to miss a chance that sublime.
With ten minutes left,Chris Brown tried to get a goal for his tally. The striker may be a crucial piece of the puzzle for the Rovers if they're to succeed this campaign and he refused to stop. His curling header from a Coppinger cross went over.
It's only Leicester's second defeat all season but a reality check for them undoubtedly that overconfident play at the start results in worse to come.
VIEWS FROM THE TOUCHLINE
LEICESTER CITY BOSS NIGEL PEARSON
"We’ve not created enough opportunities today. Our best spell was 20 minutes before half time in which we passed the ball well and moved well.
“We looked as though we didn’t have enough ideas at times. We were a little bit laboured and our quality let us down when we were securing the ball – things broke down a little too easily.
“In all honesty we should be coming away with a point today, but it’s a shame that an individual error has changed the course of the game.
“Did they create much? No. I think we defended pretty well and dealt with their threats pretty efficiently, so it makes it frustrating for us to talk about us coming away with no points, especially when you look at our 3,300 away fans behind the goal."
