The Boro are below Doncaster but have no manager following Tony Mowbray's sacking on Monday.
Dickov has carefully planned out the trip up North and has told journalists and reporters his honest feelings about facing Middlesbrough.
"I am a little bit shocked that Middlesbrough haven't done as well as expected due to the experience in their squad,"Dickov said.
"Is it a good time to visit when they've lost their manager?I would say no.The team often wins the first game after you leave your position which is frustrating for the individual but key to a good run of form.I saw that Middlesbrough's game last week at Barnsley showed they can try when they are at their best."
"Being a manager is considered a tough job,but for me I have embraced and loved working at Doncaster so far.I have a good relationship with the board and they have mutual respect for me.That is what motivates me a lot."
