Paynter,29,has joined Sheffield United on a loan deal until the end of the season and Syers,26,has signed permanently for Scunthorpe United following a spell in Lincolnshire.
Elsewhere,Abdouleye Meïte has joined Doncaster following a trial.The 33-year-old has been a free agent since leaving West Brom.
