BLACKBURN ROVERS 1-0 DONCASTER ROVERS

Rudy Gestede's goal was the only difference between Blackburn and Doncaster who still are seeking for a win this calendar year.

The game saw a bright Blackburn try to create something.Former Donny defender Tommy Spurr found the foot of Ben Marshall but the midfielder fired at Ross Turnbull's chest after three minutes.

Ten minutes later,Marshall set Jordan Rhodes free. The run from the always present striker was promising but he finish wasn't-Turnbull made the save to deny him.

Many more chances from Ben Marshall and Rhodes followed, with the latter yet again testing Turnbull on fourty minutes. But it wasn't Rhodes who'd take the plaudits. That is the cue for French newcomer RUDY GESTEDE to put his side ahead. The ex-Cardiff man tapped home in first half stoppage time.

In the second half,Tom Cairney fired over the bar for the home team and Rhodes, looking desperate, struck a low shot against the bar.

The last fifteen minutes had some of Donny's best chances.Spaniard Marc De Val Fernandez had a curling effort tipped wide by the returning Paul Robinson and Cotterill missed the target.

The last chance fell to Mark Duffy who was denied by Robinson.

VIEW FROM THE TOUCHLINE

BLACKBURN BOSS GARY BOWYER
"We know we should've seized more in the first half but I have so much praise for the lads in what is a huge victory."

"Paul Robinson's return has boosted us.He was outstanding in what is really a young squad that we play each week.Players like him and DJ Campbell are key to our successes."

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"I'm obviously disappointed with the end result. We had to weather the storm in the first twenty minutes and a lapse of concentration just before the break cost us the game."

"They have players like Jordan Rhodes up front who are dangerous-their statistics tell you that.Making a mistake with their strikeforce is not sensible and you'll be punished for it."

"I'm aware of the current situation we are in and will do my best to go through this rough time.Anyone knows with our quality of players we can sort this out."
