BLACKPOOL 1-1 DONCASTER ROVERS

Andy Halliday's goal was cancelled our by Doncaster striker Billy Sharp late in a pulsating game, with both teams having to withstand windy conditions on the Flyde coast.

In the first game since Paul Ince's sacking,Barry Ferguson took charge as caretaker. He put newcomer Tony McMahon into the team and after four minutes,he tested Ross Turnbull's reactions.David Perkins then went close with a curling header from Jack Robinson's cross.

Blackpool looked rejuvenated.Michael Chopra missed an open goal after twenty minutes played.Ten minutes later,Steven Davies hit a low shot wide of the post.In the last ten minutes of the half,Chris Basham had his header tipped over by Turnbull and Chopra struck the crossbar.

Blackpool appeared to dominate the Doncaster backline to break the deadlock. But it was Donny who tried-Paul Keegan shot at Matt Gilks.

With twenty minutes left,Blackpool eventually broke down the Doncaster barn door.Craig Cathcart had previously missed a chance, but ANDY HALLIDAY tapped home the ball on seventy-nine minutes.Blackpool were heading for the first win in eleven.

But it wasn't to be.BILLY SHARP has returned for his third spell in red and white with a bang.On eighty-five minutes,David Cotterill whipped in a free kick and Sharp got the final touch to score.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"After Blackpool's dominant play in the early stages,we had to capitalise on their advantage to attack.Although they broke the deadlock and we equalised,I saw that we dug out the draw."

"Billy Sharp is a gem of a player for us to have. The reaction from the fans has been buzzing when he rejoined and he rewarded them."
