OPPONENTS GUIDE:CHARLTON ATHELTIC

Charlton' success in the Premier League under Alan Curbishley and Alan Pardew seems a distant memory considering more recent events.Relegation to the third tier and coming close to administration in the summer of 2013 are two of many.

In 2012,the Addicks won the League One title and returned to the Championship, finishing 12th.They are currently in a relegation battle and sieving may prove tough if they don't start collecting points

THE GROUND-THE VALLEY
Doncaster were close to winning here back in August had the referee not abandoned the fixture due to rain. The replay saw the home side win 2-0.

The Valley has suffered poor pitches in the past month, and two games were postponed due to the fact the rain wouldn't drain;this led to waterlogged pitches for three weeks.Since then, the stadium has had new lighting and new turf.

THE GAFFER-CHRIS POWELL
Charlton legend Powell managed to get his first role as a full-time boss when the Addicks appointed him in 2011.

Powell, after short spells at Southend and Crystal Palace, joined Charlton in 1998.He went on to stay in Greenwich until 2004,moving to Watford and retiring at Leicester in 2009 at the age of 40.

He was named Phil Parkinson's successor in March 2011,eventually winning the league with Charlton.
