STEVENS STAYS ON,JOHNSTONE JOINS

Doncaster have extended the loan of Enda Stevens and have signed backup goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from Manchester United for a month.

Stevens,a 23-year-old Ireland U21 international,is contracted to Aston Villa.

Johnstone,20,has signed on-loan and has been at Yeovil this season already. He made just one game for the Glovers.

OPPONENTS GUIDE:MIDDLESBROUGH

4000 fans will travel down from Teeside on Saturday to play an improving Doncaster team. The Boro haven't scored in their last three games since controversially beating Charlton 1-0.

The team are not to be messed with.Marvin Emnes' goals have been vital to the form and Emmanuel Ledesma has been a prolific player both in midfield and on the wing. These two are highly respected by the fans for their contributions.

THE GAFFER-AITOR KARANKA
Ex Spain U20 boss and Jose Mourinho's former assistant at Real Madrid,40-year-old Aitor was named Middlesbrough boss after Tony Mowbray was sacked.

Karanka,a promising midfielder, signed professionally with Bilbao in 1992 and spent two years at the club, scoring twice. He then moved to Athletico Bilbao in 1994 at the age of 21.Aitor made over 100 appearances and was popular as a central midfielder.

He signed for Real Madrid in 1997 in a career-changing move.He won the Copa Del Rey in his first season with the giants but missed the 1998/1999 season with heart problems.

He rejoined Bibao and then retired in 2006 to become the coach at Real Madrid. He was made Mourinho's assistant in 2010 but left with the latter in 2013.He made a move to England with the Boro in November.

DONCASTER ROVERS 3-0 CHARLTON ATHELTIC

Ten-man Charlton couldn't withstand an improving Doncaster side who recorded another 3-0 home victory in style.

Doncaster took the lead but the goal was nothing special.A corner from Mark Duffy was met by Richie Wellens-the midfielder couldn't get the ball into the net but MEÏTE did enough.Twenty-five minutes gone and it was 1-0 to Dickov's side.

Charlton look to be fading back into League One if performances don't change.Matters got worse when Lawrie Wilson fouled Sharp in the box to receive a red card. With ten minutes until the break,CHRIS BROWN sent Ben Alnwick the wrong way to double the lead from the penalty.

After the break,Charlton looked rejuvenated by the break but didn't do anything spectacular.MARK DUFFY,on sixty-four minutes, struck from inside the area and into the net, capitalising on Charlton's errors.

Late on,Richard Wood headed wide for the visitors, who drop to the bottom three.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"A good performance was required in a must-win match at the bottom;we did that.I have to praise the team for the win first and foremost."

"It's now seven points in three matches for us.That is a form to maintain and we're not taking our foot off the gas."

DONCASTER MIDFIELDER PAUL KEEGAN
"It's a good win.The clean sheet makes everything better for us.I assisted today for a change considering I usually defend."

OPPONENTS GUIDE:CHARLTON ATHELTIC

Charlton' success in the Premier League under Alan Curbishley and Alan Pardew seems a distant memory considering more recent events.Relegation to the third tier and coming close to administration in the summer of 2013 are two of many.

In 2012,the Addicks won the League One title and returned to the Championship, finishing 12th.They are currently in a relegation battle and sieving may prove tough if they don't start collecting points

THE GROUND-THE VALLEY
Doncaster were close to winning here back in August had the referee not abandoned the fixture due to rain. The replay saw the home side win 2-0.

The Valley has suffered poor pitches in the past month, and two games were postponed due to the fact the rain wouldn't drain;this led to waterlogged pitches for three weeks.Since then, the stadium has had new lighting and new turf.

THE GAFFER-CHRIS POWELL
Charlton legend Powell managed to get his first role as a full-time boss when the Addicks appointed him in 2011.

Powell, after short spells at Southend and Crystal Palace, joined Charlton in 1998.He went on to stay in Greenwich until 2004,moving to Watford and retiring at Leicester in 2009 at the age of 40.

He was named Phil Parkinson's successor in March 2011,eventually winning the league with Charlton.

BLACKPOOL 1-1 DONCASTER ROVERS

Andy Halliday's goal was cancelled our by Doncaster striker Billy Sharp late in a pulsating game, with both teams having to withstand windy conditions on the Flyde coast.

In the first game since Paul Ince's sacking,Barry Ferguson took charge as caretaker. He put newcomer Tony McMahon into the team and after four minutes,he tested Ross Turnbull's reactions.David Perkins then went close with a curling header from Jack Robinson's cross.

Blackpool looked rejuvenated.Michael Chopra missed an open goal after twenty minutes played.Ten minutes later,Steven Davies hit a low shot wide of the post.In the last ten minutes of the half,Chris Basham had his header tipped over by Turnbull and Chopra struck the crossbar.

Blackpool appeared to dominate the Doncaster backline to break the deadlock. But it was Donny who tried-Paul Keegan shot at Matt Gilks.

With twenty minutes left,Blackpool eventually broke down the Doncaster barn door.Craig Cathcart had previously missed a chance, but ANDY HALLIDAY tapped home the ball on seventy-nine minutes.Blackpool were heading for the first win in eleven.

But it wasn't to be.BILLY SHARP has returned for his third spell in red and white with a bang.On eighty-five minutes,David Cotterill whipped in a free kick and Sharp got the final touch to score.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"After Blackpool's dominant play in the early stages,we had to capitalise on their advantage to attack.Although they broke the deadlock and we equalised,I saw that we dug out the draw."

"Billy Sharp is a gem of a player for us to have. The reaction from the fans has been buzzing when he rejoined and he rewarded them."

BENNETT GOES TO BRADFORD

Kyle Bennett has said on Twitter that he has signed for League One club Bradford City on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Bennett hasn't fully adapted to the squad  or the new Championship status, although he was a vital member of the promotion winners' team.

Kyle,23,signed for Donny in 2011 from Bury.He is the brother of Norwich's Elliott.

GETTING AWAY:BLACKPOOL

Trying to find Blackpool but end up in Paris?Or hoping for a day at the seaside and ending up in London?Well, here's how to get away to Bloomfield Road, where Donny travel to play struggling Blackpool

TRAIN
The nearest station to the stadium is Blackpool South and it's located ten minutes away. But,the problem is,few trains actually stop here so they may call at Blackpool North.Blackpool North is a two mile walk,so it'd best to get a cab.

BUS
The number 11 bus from the bus station near Blackpool North.Buses that pass Lytham St Annes go past the end of the stadium and run every eight minutes.

WHERE TO DRINK
The most popular pub with away fans is probably The Old Bridge House on Lytham Road.It has Sky Sports TVs.

The No1 Bar(a Working Men's Club) is adjacent to the away end.Another alternative is on Waterloo Road and is called The Waterloo,a family-friendly bar.

SHARP REJOINS ROVERS ON LOAN

Striker Billy Sharp has re-signed for Doncaster from Southampton on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Sharp,27,signed for Doncaster in 2010 from boyhood club Sheffield United. His goals and performances made him a fan's favourite until he left for Southampton in January 2012.

On Twitter,he said he was "delighted" to rejoin the club.

DONNY TARGET FOREST'S DERBYSHIRE

Nottingham Forest striker Matt Derbyshire is a transfer target for Doncaster Rovers,BBC Radio Nottingham understands.

Derbyshire has been on and off the transfer list for Forest since last season. He hasn't made a impact for Billy Davies this campaign, and looks to be on the way out.

27-year-old Matt has played in the top flight for Blackburn and remained at Ewood Park for six long years. He then moved to Greece for Olympiacos, but wanted to leave for family purposes.

Steve McClaren snapped him up on a free in 2011,but he's been nothing but a substitute since.

DONCASTER ROVERS 3-0 WIGAN ATHELTIC

High-flying Wigan suffered a serious reality check after shockingly losing against relegation candidates Doncaster, who bag their first win of the calendar year in style.

It only took five minutes for the deadlock to be broken by the home team.CHRIS BROWN met the cross of Paul Keegan on his right foot to curve a stab at the ball under the advancing Ali Al-Habsi in the Wigan net.

The first half saw little chances for Wigan and the bet highlight was from Nick Powell, the superstar of the club.Shortly after Husband had missed a sitter,Powell broke down the wing but couldn't find room to cross.Nicky Maynard had a header caught by Turnbull on fifteen minutes.

Before the break,Wigan suffered a very late scare.Coppinger crossed for Forrester;he had his header cleared by Emmerson Boyce only to Richie Wellens to shoot over.

Some goalline technology would be in question about the second goal.Brown had a shot blocked by the goalkeeper,Coppinger set up Wellens to shoot. The ball appeared to go over the line-the referee gave WELLENS the goal.2-0,fifty two minutes gone.

From sixty to seventy minutes, there was some penalty problems.Coppinger felt harshly treated when Keith Hill didn't award Rovers a spot kick for a foul to be redeemed when Husband tumbled over.CHRIS BROWN stepped up to score on sixty five minutes.

The last action saw Powell strike over in the eightieth minute. It is embarrassing for Wigan and Uwe Rösler has now been beaten by the underdogs.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"I know Uwe well.We live near each other, played together at Manchester City and we keep in contact.I will speak to him after the game."

"The performance certainly contradicted our previous form. The mentality was exceptional and the performance the fans saw today has been the best we've played under me."

"Chris Brown has shown his capability as a striker at Championship level. He was the key to the win."

WIGAN BOSS UWE RÖSLER
"This is only a minor setback for us.Before we came to Doncaster, our form had been exceptional and today won't be a damper in the long run."

"I feel as though we made the wrong decisions in the game and paid the heavy price."

"We have to bounce back now because that's important and I'm looking forward to seeing a reaction from my players because collectively we were not at the races."

Doncaster have successfully completed a deal to sign Romanian defender Gabriel Tamas on a six-month deal from Steuta Bucharest.

Elsewhere,Hull's German striker Nick Proschwitz has spoken to the management about a potential move.He has been at Hull since the summer of 2012.

OPPONENTS GUIDE:WIGAN ATHELTIC

Wigan's FA Cup success at Wembley last season couldn't stop them from being relegated from the top flight. They rebuilt the squad for the Championship under the new management of Owen Coyle. They also had the country's oldest fan-Tom Gill, who passed away last year aged 102.He had supported Wigan for 96 years.

But five months later,Coyle was fired and the replacement is a face who will want to forget about Doncaster's promotion more than anyone else-Brentford boss Uwe Rösler.

Rösler has since been unbeaten in the league as the Wigan boss. This will make matters tough on Saturday.

THE GROUND-THE DW STADIUM
The DW was built in 1999.Until the demise of JJB Sports, the stadium was called the JJB Stadium. The ground was renamed in 2009 after the initials of chairman and former player Dave Whelan.

It was the smallest stadium in the Premier League with a capacity of 25,000.In 2008,Wigan Warriors RFC agreed a groundshare with the football club and play their home games at the DW,when Wigan Athletic don't play.

THE GAFFER-UWE RÖSLER
East German Rösler has had a varied career both in Germany,England and briefly in Norway where he coached.

After he worked for the secret police in the Eastern side of Germany as a teenager,he joined Leipzig as a trialist before he went to Dinamo Dresden as a young adult. His big move came in 1994 to Manchester City and his reputation grew for his skills as a midfielder.

He left City in 1998.He went back to Germany to have spells at Kaiserslautern and a club in Berlin. He returned to Southampton in 2000 and then to Norway's Lillestrøm,but he fell ill with cancer.

He recovered from cancer and his coaching badges.Lillestrøm made him their boss in 2005 and won the league with them.He then moved to Viking in 2006 and left in 2009,citing personal reasons. His next managerial post was for a few months at Molde but he was sacked.

He retuned to England again for Brentford in League One.Playoff finals came and the big singings. He came within one penalty of the Championship in April 2013,but it was missed and Rovers infamously capitalised on the mistake to score.Best not remind him.

When Coyle left,Rösler became Wigan manager in December 2013.He is currently unbeaten in the league.

SIX OF THE BEST

ALI AL HABSI-GOALKEEPER
Captain of the Oman international team goalkeeper Ali had trained to be a fireman but wanted to pursue a career in football. He has played for Oman 101 times.

He first came to England to play for Bolton in 2006 from Norway's Lyn Oslo.He left them for Wigan in 2010 on a three-year-deal and was a key member of the team.

GARY CALDWELL-DEFENDER
Aged 31,Caldwell was a key for the defensive unit and was another one of the Celtic recruitments, along with Shaun Maloney,in 2010.

His family of footballing links is impressive. His brother Steven lives and plays in Canada for Toronto FC and, coincidentally,he has two younger brothers who actually trialled at Wigan!

NICK POWELL-MIDFIELDER
Nick is still 20 years old but he has made a rapid rise in terms of league status.

He was at his hometown club Crewe for seven years after joining as a kid.He was strong in Crewe's promotion push and scored their winner at Wembley, only to move to Manchester United in 2012.

Despite scoring in the league,he's been loaned out to Wigan to get experience.

ROGER ESPINOZA-MIDFIELDER
Honduran Roger was an unknown talent before he arrived to Roberto Martinez's side in January 2013.

He had spent over five years in the USA for Kansas City Wizards but agreed a deal with Wigan in 2013.A work permit was agreed and he moved to England.

GRANT HOLT-STRIKER
Grant's performances for Norwich were fantastic in the strikeforce. He moved to Wigan for £2,000,000 for Owen Coyle's recruitment mission to get back in the big time.He has since been loaned out to Aston Villa.

NICKY MAYNARD-STRIKER
Maynard could make his debut on Saturday after joining on loan from Ole Gunnar Solskjær's Cardiff City.

TAMAS SET TO JOIN DONCASTER

Doncaster are set to sign Romanian defender Gabriel Tamas, subject to international clearance and a work permit being agreed.

The former West Brom player,30,has already agreed personal terms.

Elsewhere,Paul Dickov has decided not to chase John Guidetti after the Manchester City reserve striker moved to Stoke City on a loan deal.

BLACKBURN ROVERS 1-0 DONCASTER ROVERS

Rudy Gestede's goal was the only difference between Blackburn and Doncaster who still are seeking for a win this calendar year.

The game saw a bright Blackburn try to create something.Former Donny defender Tommy Spurr found the foot of Ben Marshall but the midfielder fired at Ross Turnbull's chest after three minutes.

Ten minutes later,Marshall set Jordan Rhodes free. The run from the always present striker was promising but he finish wasn't-Turnbull made the save to deny him.

Many more chances from Ben Marshall and Rhodes followed, with the latter yet again testing Turnbull on fourty minutes. But it wasn't Rhodes who'd take the plaudits. That is the cue for French newcomer RUDY GESTEDE to put his side ahead. The ex-Cardiff man tapped home in first half stoppage time.

In the second half,Tom Cairney fired over the bar for the home team and Rhodes, looking desperate, struck a low shot against the bar.

The last fifteen minutes had some of Donny's best chances.Spaniard Marc De Val Fernandez had a curling effort tipped wide by the returning Paul Robinson and Cotterill missed the target.

The last chance fell to Mark Duffy who was denied by Robinson.

VIEW FROM THE TOUCHLINE

BLACKBURN BOSS GARY BOWYER
"We know we should've seized more in the first half but I have so much praise for the lads in what is a huge victory."

"Paul Robinson's return has boosted us.He was outstanding in what is really a young squad that we play each week.Players like him and DJ Campbell are key to our successes."

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"I'm obviously disappointed with the end result. We had to weather the storm in the first twenty minutes and a lapse of concentration just before the break cost us the game."

"They have players like Jordan Rhodes up front who are dangerous-their statistics tell you that.Making a mistake with their strikeforce is not sensible and you'll be punished for it."

"I'm aware of the current situation we are in and will do my best to go through this rough time.Anyone knows with our quality of players we can sort this out."

DICKOV GETTING INCREASINGLY ANNOYED

Paul Dickov has told the press of how he is becoming incredibly frustrated by his side's failure to win games-and it's taking a toll on his family.

Doncaster were knocked out of the FA Cup by lowly League One side Stevenage and haven't won since beating QPR 2-1 back in November. The lack of points sees the club in the relegation zone.

"My family know how stressful this job is becoming,"Dickov tells BBC Sheffield.

"The fact I'm now rarely seeing my wife and kids since I got the job at Doncaster doesn't improve matters. The work ethic by the players isn't good enough and they know too well."

"It's annoying yet difficult for me as the manager because I'm in the firing line when we lose."

DONCASTER ROVERS 2-3 STEVENAGE

Stevenage have cruised into the Fourth Round of the FA Cup for the third year running at the expense of a depleted Doncaster side.

Nothing came to much in the first half.Mark Duffy had a chance but Chris Day tipped it wide and just before half time,Stevenage's Luke Freeman headed over from a cross.

Something must've been said at the break by Graham Westley and the away side responded.A terrible mistake in the Rovers' defence by Paul Quinn set FRANÇOIS ZOKO free to slot the ball under Turnbull in such a composed manner after forty-nine minutes.

After the hour mark,it was 2-0 to Stevenage.A corner allowed an unmarked PETER HARTLEY to head into the goal.He sent the away fans cheering in delight to say Westley's team have lost seven on the trot.

Rovers seriously needed some insipratIon to revive themselves.Cue substitute HARRY FORRESTER to score on the eve of his 23rd birthday. The young midfielder managed to get on the end of Jon Ashton's clearance to fire in from twenty yards with twenty-five minutes left.

That goal had an effect and chances followed.Mark Duffy missed the target,Billy Paynter missed a sitter and Enda Stevens struck wide.

The ninety minute mark had approached and it was game over.Zoko found an approaching DARIUS CHARLES in the box who slotted the ball under Turnbull to send the away side through. The away bench were roaring in delight.

LIAM WAKEFIELD added anothe late on but it's the basement club in the third tier who head into the pot.

VIEWS FROM THE TOUCHLINE

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"I am totally disgusted with the defeat.I had stressed that with Stevenage being the lowly side they'd be wanting it more than us.

"They worked harder than us and they won the game and the one thing you have to do in every game is go out there and give everything you have got and then start playing from there, whether it was because it was Stevenage and they were bottom of League One, maybe that crept into it a little bit."

"It is hard because we prepared them well and now no player in there can say they have not had a chance with me in there and it is something that is going to have to change."

STEVENAGE BOSS GRAHAM WESTLEY
"I went to Doncaster's game at QPR to monitor them. That has been worthwhile in preparing for the game and winning."

"My team can relate to Doncaster in terms of form as we haven't been winning which resulted in both mine and Paul's in relegation trouble. It is a condfidence booster after the result."
