CARLISLE SIGN PAYNTER FROM ROVERS

League Two newcomers Carlisle United have signed striker Billy Paynter from Doncaster Rovers on a 12-month deal after he completed his medical.

The 29-year old former Port Vale,Swindon and Leeds striker joined Doncaster on a free transfer in 2012 but has rejected a new deal.

Paynter joins Carlisle following their relegation from the third tier last season,with the Cumbrians wanting an immediate return to League One in 2014/15.
