Found in August 1908,they entered the Football League in 1910 and reached the 1920 FA Cup Final.They were then promoted to Division One.They won the FA Cup in 1922.
In 1936,the club received a record attendance of 67,037 in a FA Cup match against Arsenal at Leeds Road.After the Second World War,in 1952,the Terriers were relegated to Division Two.They struggled to gain promotions and were relegated.
Barry Rubery bought the club in 1998.He promised Premiership football but it want to be and financial difficulty took over.David Taylor bought the club but landed them in administration.In 2003,Ken Davy bought them out and decided to name the stadium the Galpharm Stadium(now John Smith's Stadium).
In 2012,they won promotion the the Championship via the playoffs.They struggled under ex-Leeds boss Simon Grayson and he was sacked in February 2013.His replacement was Mark Robins,who left Coventry.
THE GAFFER-MARK ROBINS
Probably notable for scoring the goal that saved Alex Ferguson's job at Manchester United,Mark has had an extremely good career as a manager.Most of his time has been in South Yorkshire.
Born in Greater Manchester,Mark spent six years at Old Trafford as a forward from 1986 to 1992.He scored the notable goal against Nottingham Forest in the 1991 FA Cup to save Fergie from the chop.He went on to achieve more success.
Norwich signed him in 1992.However,despite a good first season,he was our for the 1993/94 campaign due to a broken knee.The next stop was Leicester City and he won promotion with them to the top flight in 1995.
In his later career,Mark had spells in Denmark,Greece,Walsall,Burton Albion,Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United.
He was named Rotherham's boss in April 2007 and succeeded Alan Knill. He guided them to impressive runs and the tema could challenge for promotion,but didn't go up.
Barnsley appointed him as their new boss in September 2009.He steered the club to 15th in the Championship and the following season kept them up by one point.He left in May 2011 after rowing with the board.
Eighteen months after this,he moved to the Black Country-Coventry was the next stop in his career.Coventry,a depleted club both financially and on the pitch,were struggling in League One.He guided them up the table before being approached by Huddersfield in February 2013.
He left Coventry for Huddersfield on 6th February 2013.
