DONCASTER ROVERS 2-1 WATFORD

A game which had turned focus towards Watford's aggression saw Billy Sharp steal the three points in a 2-1 win for Doncaster, who go seven points clear of the drop.

Watford's ever prolific frontman Troy Deeney wants to add to his goal tally. He didn't here though-a good pass by Merkel set up the striker and he saw his effort saved by Johnstone.

With the game over a quarter of a hour old,Watford saw red.Ranegie kicked James Husband in his left leg as a result of the latter bringing him down. With Watford down to ten men,it'd become harder.

It became harder when CHRIS BROWN headed Doncaster ahead with a perfectly-timed header past Jonathon Bond.Coppinger crossed the ball into the box and he rose highest to head home after twenty-three minutes.

Shortly after blasting a corner over,Watford had a case for a penalty.Troy Deeney seemed to have been pulled over by Sam Johnstone.Despite angry protests by the manager, the away side got nothing.

Watford's Merkel had a good chance after the break;his free-kick cannoned off the bar to Deeney who struck wide.

On sixty-four minutes,David Cotterill shot wide before Watford equalised.A loose ball was thrown into the box and IKECHI ANYA met hit first time, smashing it into the goal.

Rovers then really did crank up the pressure to an enormous extent.Duffy's corner was scrambled by Wellens for Brown and he had a tap tipped wide by Wales U21 goalkeeper Bond.

Not long after,Richie Wellens' superb run into the box produced a top class save by Bond who was full stretched.Paul Keegan came agonizingly close only for Lloyd Doyley to clear off the line.

The goal did come at the depth with BILLY SHARP nicking it in stoppage time.Mark Duffy ran into the box,had a shot saved by Bond for Sharp to tap the ball in.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"That's now two wins on the trot following the 5-0 defeat at Bournemouth. When you say Rovers have  performed well considering the thrashing there, people would think you're lying."

"Sharp is a player who belongs here and up North in England. He can't play well down South and it's in his nature to play here."
