The meeting with Fleetwood, who won promotion to League One for the first ever time in their history in May,will be the first ever in the history of both sides, something which Dickov has anticipated.
"Fleetwood's rise to this level has been incredible over the past ten years;they've effectively gone from playing in front of 500 to 6,000 fans in ten years,"Dickov said.
"We know of their threat. They have a good squad who are more than capable of competing in the Football League and they were top of the table for a month and a half through August."
"Hopefully the match will provide some experience and should be enjoyed and embraced.I recently took charge of my 200th match as a manager and although Highbury is a tough stadium to play at,we hope to thrive under pressure and compete."
The manager has also reserved praise for the staff he has working along side him in the dugout and behind the scenes at the training ground.
"Paul Butler is a good coach to have and he has good credentials. His enthusiasm on the training pitch rubs off on the team and they respond to him well."
"I have Brian Horton as my assistant. He has a lot of experience along with successes as a manager over the last thirty years. He's been around the place and has managed over 1000 games, which I can't argue with whatsoever."
"Recently,we appointed Gerry Taggart as a scout at Doncaster Rovers.Gerry was my assistant manager at Oldham and we get on well.We do quite a lot of recruitment work ourselves but the scouting team help when possible."
