DONCASTER ROVERS 0-0 MK DONS

Doncaster held on for a point at home to League One highfliers MK Dons, who will probably feel aggravated after the game.

Doncaster were on the back foot from the off.Ben Reeves had two chances but both of them were dealt with easily enough by Jed Steer in the home goal.Harry Forrester then headed over in the first fifteen minutes.

The rest of the half was very nervy for both teams and they had numerous chances to score.Andy Butler,on his debut, headed wide of the mark and Kyle Bennett struck at David Martin from close range. At the other end,Reeves again missed a good sitter.

A team talk seemed to have had an effect on Donny's play. They were more attacking and dominant in the second period.Curtis Main got the ball rolling with a good chance going wide of the goal.

At this point, more breaks on the counter saw Wellens and Nathan Tyson came really close to scoring.Tyson was more annoyed than his midfield counterpart by mistiming a header close to the goal.

Another few chances were wasted in the last ten minutes.Bennett sent a freekick over the bar,Forrester felt as though he should've had a penalty after a handball by Benik Afobe and Keegan's header was offside.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV

"We were far better in the second half of the game and I'm annoyed we didn't come away with something better than a point."

"Once the side has freshened up a bit more,we can change tactics and help the team to gel a bit more.Andy Butler can help by aiding the defence."

"Overall,it was a better team display today."

MK DONS BOSS KARL ROBINSON

"I'm not going to talk about the vacant post at Birmingham. The focus is now at MK Dons and I want to look at that."

"Credit to Doncaster and Paul Dickov. The side that they played out there today showed how good they can be when they're on the ball."

OPPONENTS GUIDE:MK DONS

Milton Keynes Dons are the youngest members of the Football League and they've risen up to possible Championship potential. The last few seasons have seen them desperately try to get to the second tier.

Founded by current chairman Pete Winkleman,MK Dons were created from the demised Wimbledon FC,who relocated to Milton Keynes in 2004,the year the club was set up.The first manager of the Dons was former Wimbledon manager Stuart Murdoch.

Murdoch was sacked during the 2004/05 season and replaced by Danny Wilson. The club stayed in League One,but were relegated in 2006 and Martin Allen replaced Wilson as boss.

Shortly after moving to Stadium:MK,Allen left in 2007 and was replaced by former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Paul Ince, and he bought the first ever trophy to Milton Keynes in the form of the JPT.Ince also won promotion back to the third tier in 2008,but left afterwards to go to Blackburn Rovers.Roberto Di Matteo was named his successor and he guided the club to the playoffs, only to lose in the semis.

Ince returned to MK Dons until the end of the 2009/10 season. The club then appointed the youngest manager in England as Karl Robinson, who was 29 when he got the job.

THE GAFFER KARL ROBINSON
Liverpudlian Robinson made history in 2010 when, aged 29,he was promoted from assistant to manager of the Dons.

Born in 1980,he played for several non-league and part-time clubs before eventually retiring in 2007 to become a coach and complete his certificates.

He worked at Blackburn and MK Dons under Paul Ince. After Ince left the club,he was surprisingly named his replacement. He guided the team to the playoffs over two seasons and in August 2014,his side beat Manchester United 4-0 in the cup.

BUTLER:"I'VE ALWAYS LOVED ROVERS"

New loan defender Andy Butler has told BBC Sheffield how his loan move to hometown club Doncaster was the right one.

Butler has joined on a three-month deal.

"I watched Doncaster play at Belle Vue as a kid and followed them closely throughout my childhood,"Butler said.

"I remember Doncaster getting promoted from the Conference and they've progressed up the ranks since."

"No matter what, the future is bright here and I'm glad to be back at my old roots."

DONCASTER SIGN DEFENDER BUTLER

Doncaster have completed the loan signing of Sheffield United defender Andy Butler for three months, subject to clearance.

30-year-old Butler, who was born and raised in Doncaster, has expressed delight from his new manager Paul Dickov since joining the club today.

"Andy is just what we need at the minute.I've tried to sign him for Oldham because of the experience he has in this league",says Dickov.

"We need to strengthen the defence to stop goals from leaking into our net.I hope Andy can contribute to this with his heading, passing and skill abilities. We also needed someone with leadership."

Butler joined Sheffield United from Walsall this July and was loaned back to the Black Country club earlier this season, featuring against Doncaster in the 3-0 win for Walsall.

DONCASTER ROVERS 0-2 LEYTON ORIENT

Leyton Orient scored twice in the second half to defeat Doncaster on a cold Yorkshire evening, and certainly put more pressure on Doncaster's Paul Dickov.

The early stages of the match began slowly but there was one thing clear-Orient would fight.Chris Dagnall tested Jed Steer from twenty yards in first minute. And they showed this when they went 1-0 through JAY SIMPSON who scored from inside the box after two minutes.

Doncaster responded well to going behind early on.James Coppinger struck over from five yards out and Richie Wellens hit a freekick wide of the post. This looked promising to say they'd lost at the weekend.

With half an hour gone,Nathan Tyson headed over from a Coppinger cross and Harry Forrester's turn and shot was palmed away by Gary Woods on his return to the Keepmoat.

The second half was not at all easy for Donny but they started well.Forrester nearly scored from a cross but mistimed it and Reece Wabara's corner was cleared by Woods.Doncaster also had a chance through McCombe.

On the hour mark,Orient doubled the lead.DARIUS HENDERSON knows South Yorkshire well, having played for Sheffield United. His volley from the edge of the box went into the top corner. The home bench looked on grimly.

Doncaster didn't do enough to respond to this and the defeat drags them to one point from the drop.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV

"I asked for more tonight from the team and they gave me that, but didn't click in the game. The plus side is that we played better than on Saturday."

"League One is testing us to the limit and we have to match that standard. We work together and we are unlucky not to do anything."

LEYTON ORIENT CARETAKER BOSS KEVIN NUGENT

"I am so proud after that."

"The result was a full-on team effort by the boys and I have praise for the unity out there today.I couldn't ask for anymore and we feel more confidence."

OPPONENTS GUIDE:LEYTON ORIENT

If agood finish last season in League One and reaching the playoff final is a good indicator of how well you'll do next campaign, the O's must be kicking themselves.Struggling, they're in the relegation zone.

Leyton Orient were originally formed by the Glyn Cricket Club in 1881,with most members college students. The team adapted the name Orient Football Club in 1888,and then Clapton Orient in 1899.They joined the Football League in 1905.

The club moved to Leyton in 1937 and after the war, they became Leyton Orient FC along with another London club named Leyton FC.The club were reverted back to Orient in 1966 and caused some financial damages.

The club permanently became Leyton Orient FC in 1987 following Tony Wood's takeover. The 1990s were a very tough time as financial problems arose, but the 2000s saw improvement.Martin Ling's appointment as manager was crucial. He guided the O's to League One in 2005 and they have stayed there since.

Ling left in January 2009 and Geraint Williams was appointed as manager. He was sacked a few months later and was replaced by Russell Slade. He guided Orient eventually to the 2013/14 playoffs, only to lose to Rotherham United. He left in October 2014.

THE GAFFER KEVIN NUGENT

As a player,Nugent was a striker in the lower leagues of the footballing pyramid, having two spells at Orient.

He began his career off at Leyton Orient and spent seven years as a player, making 94 appearances. The Londoner then joined Plymouth in 1992,spending three years at Home Park before playing at Bristol City and Cardiff City later on.

He reunited with Leyton Orient in 2002 and remained there for a season.Nugent then had a spell at Swansea before calling it a day in 2006.

His first coaching role was at Swansea and he was briefly caretaker manager in 2007.He was named Orient's youth team manager in July that year and has remained a member of the coaching staff since.

He's currently in caretaker charge following Russell Slade's departure.

HE PLAYED FOR BOTH GARY WOODS
Goalkeeper Gary had five years at Doncaster, joining from Cambridge United as a youngster. He was a regular in net later on into his time at Doncaster, before leaving in 2013 to join Watford and then Orient this summer.

FLEETWOOD TOWN 3-1 DONCASTER ROVERS

Fleetwood's good start to life as a League One team continued at home with an impressive 3-1 win over Doncaster Rovers.

The Cod Army took the lead early on through loanee striker STEPHEN DOBBIE.The Welsh striker found the ball when it was deflected into his path and he smashed it into the net after just ten minutes.

Doncaster took only seven minutes to pull it back.NATHAN TYSON scored the goal after his shot was struck low, with help from a Stephen Jordan deflection.1-1,and the game was on.

Fleetwood continued to press hard and chances came from David Ball and Gareth Evans, but it was another loan player who scored for the home side.LIAM MCALINDEN scored two in two after heading in David Ball's cross.

Doncaster began the second half better and early on,Richie Wellens struck a freekick wide of the goal.Nathan Tyson then hit an effort just over Chris Maxwell's goal.Improvements certainly were being made.

The next action occurred on seventy-three minutes when JOSH MORRIS thumped a freekick past Jed Steer and made it harder for Paul Dickov's team to pull it back.3-1 to the hosts.

Doncaster repeatedly had chances to score, but they couldn't make it count and were the losers at the end of the day.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
FLEETWOOD TOWN BOSS GRAHAM ALEXANDER
"That was our best performance yet.We got the goals and points we needed, the players aided this a lot."

"My team has never given up and we just get better."

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV
"We need to do better on Tuesday and next Saturday.Today,we were poor in the first half and improved in the second half to no avail."

"We wanted to win today and set our sights for a win but it wasn't to be.I expect a win next time and as a manager,I'm the one who needs to change this around."

DICKOV:"FLEETWOOD WILL BE AN EXPERIENCE"

Paul Dickov has spoken to journalists from BBC Radio Sheffield ahead of the next Rovers game away at Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

The meeting with Fleetwood, who won promotion to League One for the first ever time in their history in May,will be the first ever in the history of both sides, something which Dickov has anticipated.

"Fleetwood's rise to this level has been incredible over the past ten years;they've effectively gone from playing in front of 500 to 6,000 fans in ten years,"Dickov said.

"We know of their threat. They have a good squad who are more than capable of competing in the Football League and they were top of the table for a month and a half through August."

"Hopefully the match will provide some experience and should be enjoyed and embraced.I recently took charge of my 200th match as a manager and although Highbury is a tough stadium to play at,we hope to thrive under pressure and compete."

The manager has also reserved praise for the staff he has working along side him in the dugout and behind the scenes at the training ground.

"Paul Butler is a good coach to have and he has good credentials. His enthusiasm on the training pitch rubs off on the team and they respond to him well."

"I have Brian Horton as my assistant. He has a lot of experience along with successes as a manager over the last thirty years. He's been around the place and has managed over 1000 games, which I can't argue with whatsoever."

"Recently,we appointed Gerry Taggart as a scout at Doncaster Rovers.Gerry was my assistant manager at Oldham and we get on well.We do quite a lot of recruitment work ourselves but the scouting team help when possible."

ROBINSON:'I LOVE INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL'

Doncaster striker Theo Robinson has expressed his utmost delight at playing international football for the Jamaica national football team.

Robinson,25,was first called up for Jamaica last year and made his full international debut against the USA,losing 2-1.

Theo said,"It's a dream to play for my country.I qualify to play for Jamaica on my grandparents side because they are from Jamaica, but moved to Birmingham in the 1970s along with my mum,who was a small child."

"My grandad was delighted when he heard I'd been called up for the squad and told me to embrace it."

"The only downside is that we were disappointed not to qualify for the World Cup.We tried hard enough and didn't get anything which was annoying."

BURTON ALBION 0-3 DONCASTER

Doncaster Rovers successfully brushed aside League Two promotion favourites Burton Albion on a cold night at the Pirelli Stadium with a fantastic 3-0 win.

Doncaster took some time to get involved in the game, but took the lead on twenty-seven minutes.HARRY FORRESTER created an attacking move into Burton's area and passed to Coppinger, who whipped the ball into the path of Forrester to chest the ball and roll it into the net.A good start for the away side and their fans were delighted.

Richie Wellens then had a chance to double the lead but his shot was wide. But with five minutes to go before the break,Tyson was pushed over by Brewers' captain Ian Sharps for a penalty and a chance to double the lead.Tyson took it and fired his shot low under Dean Lyness, who was having a difficult night in goal.

Burton started the game stronger than Doncaster and repeated this in the second half.Palmer came close with a curling effort in the area and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff mistimed a header from a corner. It wasn't perfection from Gary Rowett's team but it was looking hopeful.

Youngster Mitchell Lund started for Doncaster and got involved in keeping out Jacob Blyth's shot and cleared a header by Phil Edwards off the line with thirty minutes left of normal time.Blyth then went on the attack alone and although he got the ball under the advancing Jed Steer, his shot painfully went wide of the post. This added to the Burton players' frustrating afternoon.

The game was more than over with two minutes left when Richie Wellens scored from outside the box.It was a brilliant win for Paul Dickov and his team, but Burton know they'll need to prepare for Saturday's away match at Northampton Town.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
BURTON BOSS GARY ROWETT

"Our form at the minute is becoming a cause for concern. We didn't play very well on Friday night against Cambridge and didnt seem to respond at all today and it's cost us a place in the next round of the JPT."

"It's said often but we are literally the cause of our downfall right now.We need to be more disciplined on pitch and I'm stamping my authority on the team.We seemed hungover from Friday and have a tough game at Northampton on Saturday."

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV

"I'm pleased to progress in this competition. We will try our best in the JPT and going to Wembley for the squad and me as a manager would be an honour.Winning tonight puts more reality on that."

"It is a tough place to play at at the minute and we did well.Mitchell Lund impressed me and so did Harry Middleton when he came on.Nathan Tyson had a good game and topped his performance off with a goal."

"The younger players showed mature attitudes and I was encouraged by that."

SCUNTHORPE UNITED 1-2 DONCASTER ROVERS

James Coppinger and Nathan Tyson scored in a superb derby victory away at Scunthorpe United, whose early relegation fears are far from eased yet.

Scunthorpe boss Russ Wilcox admits The Iron are playing better now,but his team had two early scares in the first ten minutes.Donny defender Jamie McCombe started his career off at Scunthorpe and headed a Furman cross wide before Wellens hit a shot straight at Robert Olejnik.

Doncaster pressurized more in the first half, but it came as a shock when Scunthorpe took the lead.New Zealand international striker RORY FALLON made it two in two since joining, finishing off Neal Bishop's good work after twenty-four minutes.

Doncaster pulled it back to 1-1 though four minutes later.JAMES COPPINGER found the ball in the box and hit it past former Austria U21 goalkeeper Olejnik.

The second half proved to be brighter for both teams. But it was the away fans who were roaring early in the second period when NATHAN TYSON put Doncaster ahead with a low shot.

Olejnik was kept on his toes from then onwards, denying both Wakefield and Forrester.Iron striker Paddy Madden then tried to chip Jed Steer but he was just over the bar.

In the final fifteen minutes,Scunthorpe pushed forward aggressively, and could've nicked a point.Andrew Boyce, recalled from a loan spell at Grimsby, missed a tap-in and substitute Hakeem Adelakun hit over from a corner.

It's Doncaster's second away win of the season but Scunthorpe need to do something to their team if they are to improve.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
SCUNTHORPE BOSS RUSS WILCOX

"That game had a good derby atmosphere and there were two teams eager to change their forms, hence the desperate sense."

"That was the best we've played yet.We were more creative and brave out there but it just didn't work.We need to carry on this kind of play in the next few games and we'll turn a corner."

"Silly little things cost us the game.Rory Fallon and Paddy Madden have played well but they're not the only two players who score constantly;others must step up."

SCUNTHORPE STRIKER PADDY MADDEN

"The gaffer said it was a performance to be proud of because we did what he'd asked-to be more involved as individuals."

"We took the lead and felt confident we could win the derby baring in mind where we are in the league. When we conceded twice,we never recovered and had our belief knocked."
