OWLS SET TO NAME WARNOCK

Sheffield Wednesday are set to appoint former Sheffield United and Leeds manager Neil Warnock within the next three days.

The Sheffield-born boss,67,grew up supporting Sheffield United and has been out of work since leaving Leeds earlier this year,a position he held for under 12 months.

Should Warnock be confirmed as manager,he will replace Dave Jones.Jones had guided Wednesday to League One promotion in 2012 but this season has been a struggle to get a sense of momentum going. One win in sixteen has sealed his fate.

Warnock notably was at Bramall Lane from 1999 to 2007,guiding the Blades to the top flight in 2006 and narrowly was relegated with them that season. He then left the team for Crystal Palace.

He faced administrative issues with the Croydon club in 2009,and the club feared going broke;the fans were livid by the board. He didn't see the end of the financial strains when they ended in June 2010.

The reason for this was leaving for QPR in March 2010,who did an exchange in managers. He kept the Hoops up,and a year later they were promoted as winners of the league a year later. He struggled to keep QPR in the league and was sacked by January 2012.
It's not the first time a manager has had post both sides of the City.Danny Wilson had managed Sheffield Wednesday in 2000,and Sheffield United from 2011 and 2013.
