Brentford manager and former midfielder Uwe Rösler has spoken of how he waa asked to spy the secret police whilst growing up in East Germany in the 1980s
The police asked Uwe to spy on some of his teammates, and he speaks about the experience at his home in Stockport.
"If you grew up in East Germany, you knew all too well people would watch you everywhere you went.It put a lot of pressure on me and I feared my career as a player would be over to work for the secret police."
"I spoke to my dad.He told me to see my coach and he sorted it out."
The Berlin Wall came down in November 1989.It bought political changes to Germany as a whole.Uwe knows this well.He also talked about today's players and the challenges they face.
"The change in politics opened the gate to many opportunities that I never had,but I'll admit players today face harder challenges than my childhood had.I was so focused and was rarely disturbed in developing as a player."
"Being bought up surrounded by communism I wasn't really pampered or spoilt rotten as to speak. The players today are expected more of,and that's challenging. However, the fact there was a wall splitting Germany has impacted our world."
