CHARLTON 2-0 DONCASTER

Charlton dominated their rearranged fixture against Doncaster after taking all three points in the fixture which had been abandoned in August, with the away side leading 3-1.

Yann Kermogant had the better chances early on,firing wide from thirty yards and hitting the crossbar with a superb effort. He then turned provider for Johnnie Jackson, who had his low drive tipped over by Ross Turnbull.

Charlton's resilience paid off sooner.Dale Stephens has only just been chosen regularly for Chris Powell's side and showed everyone what he can do.Church passed to STEPHENS and he curled the ball beautifully past Ross Turnbull from twenty yards.1-0 to Charlton, over half an hour gone.

Simon Church wanted a go himself in the second half to get on the score sheet. His header went wide, and at the opposite end Ben Alnwick was tested by midfielder Richie Wellens, but he hit the bar.The lack of creative play was to spur on Doncaster soon after.

CHURCH finally made it 2-0 with a tap-in from four yards,Jackson the architect. It's now approaching double figures for the former Reading man.

Late on in what was a boring last few minutes,Kiko Macheda collected Theo
Robinson's header on his left boot-it came to nothing though.Charlton fans went home all smiles, and Doncaster welcome another London side on Saturday in the form of QPR.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

CHARLTON BOSS CHRIS POWELL:
“It was a real brave, committed performance under some pressure because we knew it was the game in hand that was looming and we all know what happened in the abandoned game.

“So after the loss on Saturday, with the two home games this week, I was looking for six points and we're halfway there.

“Looking at the table before the game, every Charlton fan and player knew what three points meant. It's still tight but it's always good for the mindset to see that you've moved up three or four places.”

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV:
"I've no qualms about the result and as I say they were the better team."

"Marc De Val made his first full start for us  on the night.I thought he did ok, we took him off because it was his first game back, but he did reasonably well."
