DONCASTER 2-1 QPR

Paul Quinn headed a late winner to condemn QPR to their second defeat this season, and give the struggling South Yorkshire side a vital victory going into Tuesday night.

QPR didn't really get going until just before the half-hour mark.Colossal left-back Benoît Assou-Ekoto tried to lob Ross Turnbull but his effort went wide. This was made up for by top scorer CHARLIE AUSTIN who made it eight in seven league matches. His fierce strike seemed to be caught by the Donny goalkeeper, but it slipped through his legs and in-similar to Taibi's shot with Matt Le Tissier.

The second half started with Doncaster on top.Duffy found Richie Wellens who fired wide, and it would take a bit of magic to get something. That's the ice for THEO ROBINSON to pounce. His cut through Clinton Hill to curl perfectly under Rob Green, and level the score.

Sixty minutes gone, and QPR wanted to hassle the opponents. It was no surprise when infamous bad-boy Joey Barton brutally fouled Wellens. The midfielders confronted each other furiously,Barton starting it somehow.Canadian AJ Hoillett picked out Charlie Austin but he made no real contact. He was at it again when Phillips' ball met him,but the control was poor.

Hoillett is becoming useful. And Phillips the architect again in a flowing move started by Barton and Austin. But the substitute missed the goal and clicked the post instead.Rovers certainly had a scare!

89 minutes had gone and Duffy's comer went high into the box.It met the head of Scot PAUL QUINN and he drilled his powerful header past Rob Green and Danny Simpson into the corner. The pandemonium in the stands shook the foundations with the cheering. But Wellens wanted more-he tested Green.

The result was one that brought smiles onto the home fans' faces, but sees QPR travel back to the capital questioning what could've been.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

DONCASTER DEFENDER PAUL QUINN:
"I had joked with some teammates for the last few weeks that I'd get into the box and be on the receiving end of the ball.I got that chance and to score the winner was a good feeling that left me buzzing."

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV:
"We had let down the travelling Doncaster faithful on Tuesday's game at Charlton,so it can be said the win today was indeed for them."

"The defence was how a proper backline should be and how compact we should be.Luke McCullough is a young lad who's learning still but he was super today in the game.Quinny(Paul Quinn) was also brilliant after recent criticism."

"As many players agree, today was about attitude above performance.I am thrilled to get the points going into our next two away games."

QPR BOSS HARRY REDKNAPP
"They say you're vunerable after taking the lead and I admit I underestimated that.I couldn't see us losing. We dominated the game and seemed comfortable with the style we played."

"Credit to Doncaster who got the points but I am sick of the same relience on the same guys to score.I stuck two up front at 1-1 but didn't do enough."

"It's difficult to get the team to stop this dependency. We need a midfield who can score more and wingers with crossing abilities like no other. It seems as though if Charlie Austin doesn't score,we don't win yet alone score in the game."

"I want other areas to step up to the mark and be more open to scoring."

OPPONENTS GUIDE #17:QPR(H)

QPR are no surprise package in the Championship this season, hitting second spot at the time of writing. After last season's disappointing relegation despite the signings of Loïc Remy and defender Chris Samba, the R's were simply not good enough and paid the price.

It has been all change in White City since last season. It has been recognised changes were made a bit too late and to avoid this,QPR made the big edition signings as soon as possible. With a superb unit up front and a popular fan base in London,it should be a good turnout.

THE GROUND-LOFTUS ROAD
Holding under 19,000 fans under one roof, this ground became the first in Britain to have astroturf installed in 1981.It is now the home of London Wasps Rugby Football Club and hosts regular games. There are many bars and eating outlets nearby, but be careful-some are not for home fans and bouncers check tickets.

THE GAFFER-HARRY REDKNAPP
Cockney Harry is somewhat a legend in football for his managerial success, and the fact his eldest son Jamie played for Liverpool and is a pundit.Harry's success at West Ham and Portsmouth especially for the FA Cup win in 2008.He has also taken Pompey to Europe. After a spell at Tottenham Hotspur,QPR appointed him in December 2012 but he was relegated with them last season. He has been on good form as recent with QPR lookinh comfortable.

SIX OF THE BEST

ROB GREEN-TUBE TRAVELLER
If you go to London, check who's on our carriage. There may be a chance former England shot stopper Rob Green is on it,as he gets the tube to every home match!Green made his name at West Ham where he spent eight years prior to his move to QPR,and is a starter.

RICHARD DUNNE-VETERAN
34 years old but still strong no matter what,Richard has had a good career. He played with Paul Dickov at Manchester City and he spent nine years at Eastlands. He made over 250 appareances for City before moving to Aston Villa in 2009.He was made a free in the summer and signed for QPR in what he said was a "new start".

CLINT HILL-THE LEADER
Captain Clint has been a fair leader with many talents as a centre back.Born in Liverpool in 1978,he was a trainee at Tranmere Rovers and after four years there moved to Oldham. The most notable club he was at has to be Crystal Palace, and he was known for his heading abilities and smart thinking.

NIKO KRANJČAR-HARRY'S OLD MATE
Croatian Niko is known in England for his time at Portsmouth with Harry Redknapp and co.He moved with his boss to Spurs in 2009 and moved to Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv in 2012 on a four-year-deal for £7,000,000.Although he is on loan at QPR,Niko scored a volley on his home debut to introduce himself.

CHARLIE AUSTIN-BRICKLAYER
Before he turned professional four years ago by singing for Swindon,Charlie was a bricklayer. He has been a crucial player and has a superb reputation. His goals last season for Burnley helped the club finish 10th and now at QPR,he is the club's top scorer so far.He won the Player of the Month award for October.

ANDY JOHNSON-STRIKES IT RICH
32 years of age,Andy has spent most of his career as a striker for some major London clubs, especially Fulham where he was known for his goal celebrations and skill. He was made available for free transfer in 2012 and QPR signed him shortly after. He made two appearances in the top flight for the R's due to an injury.

CHARLTON 2-0 DONCASTER

Charlton dominated their rearranged fixture against Doncaster after taking all three points in the fixture which had been abandoned in August, with the away side leading 3-1.

Yann Kermogant had the better chances early on,firing wide from thirty yards and hitting the crossbar with a superb effort. He then turned provider for Johnnie Jackson, who had his low drive tipped over by Ross Turnbull.

Charlton's resilience paid off sooner.Dale Stephens has only just been chosen regularly for Chris Powell's side and showed everyone what he can do.Church passed to STEPHENS and he curled the ball beautifully past Ross Turnbull from twenty yards.1-0 to Charlton, over half an hour gone.

Simon Church wanted a go himself in the second half to get on the score sheet. His header went wide, and at the opposite end Ben Alnwick was tested by midfielder Richie Wellens, but he hit the bar.The lack of creative play was to spur on Doncaster soon after.

CHURCH finally made it 2-0 with a tap-in from four yards,Jackson the architect. It's now approaching double figures for the former Reading man.

Late on in what was a boring last few minutes,Kiko Macheda collected Theo
Robinson's header on his left boot-it came to nothing though.Charlton fans went home all smiles, and Doncaster welcome another London side on Saturday in the form of QPR.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

CHARLTON BOSS CHRIS POWELL:
“It was a real brave, committed performance under some pressure because we knew it was the game in hand that was looming and we all know what happened in the abandoned game.

“So after the loss on Saturday, with the two home games this week, I was looking for six points and we're halfway there.

“Looking at the table before the game, every Charlton fan and player knew what three points meant. It's still tight but it's always good for the mindset to see that you've moved up three or four places.”

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV:
"I've no qualms about the result and as I say they were the better team."

"Marc De Val made his first full start for us  on the night.I thought he did ok, we took him off because it was his first game back, but he did reasonably well."

WOODS MAKE ROVERS RETURN

Paul Dickov has today confirmed that Martin Woods has re-joined Doncaster on a short-term deal.

The 27-year-old Scot was part of the side that won promotion last season. However,he spent most of the time on the sidelines and was out for six months with a broken metatarsal. But the midfielder has now been included for the trip to Charlton.

Woods had trialled with Bradford City in the summer but didn't win a contract.

DICKOV MAY USE LOAN MARKET

With January's transfer window closely approaching,Paul Dickov may need to use the loan market in order to bring new players into the club.

Doncaster have signed Federico Macheda back on loan until December 31st,but Dickov has expressed his swore to have some fresh faces sign for last season's League One winners.

The main problem for Doncaster has been the backline. With Rob Jones still out with a nerve problem and now Korean loanee Yun out with a broken ankle, the manager will need some new talent.But-as Paul says all too well-it's a tedious task.

"If a manager wants to bring in a player on loan,he can't just pick a player and bring him in straight away",says Dickov,"There's the wages, contracts and phone calls that need to be made.We can't do that all the time-I'm a busy man."

Tomorrow sees Doncaster travel to Charlton to replay the match which was abandoned in August, with Rovers 3-1 up.

DONCASTER 2-1 YEOVIL

Mark Duffy's free-kick eight minutes from time gave Doncaster a first win in five matches at Yeovil's expense, who stay 24th in the league.

Mark Duffy has been known for his energy in matches and it proved useful early on.The midfielder had a shot after three minutes which was headed over by Shane Duffy. The two are not related.

The ex-Scunthorpe man was trying again five minutes later.Yeovil's only available goalkeeper Chris Dunn had to be at his best on his debut to tip an effort wide. With Marek Stech injured for the season and Wayne Hennessey returning to Wolves earlier this week,Dunn had to be at his best in goal.

It was Doncaster who took the lead.Duffy was the architect of a sneaky move, which saw a pass to the returning Kiko Macheda to find DEAN FURMAN who slotted home after eleven minutes.

Yeovil appeared to struggle a little bit and had to sub Fraser Fyvie off for Kevin Dawson, much to the Scot's anger and annoyance. It was then a case of more problems for Yeovil-captain Jamie McAllister broke his collar bone in a challenge with Theo Robinson.

The travelling Glovers needed something desperately and former Doncaster player BYRON WEBSTER provided it.Sam Hoskins delivered in a ball for the head of Shane Duffy. His knockdown was met by Webster to tap home.1-1 half time.

The second half saw a Yeovil side looking more confident and prepared.Paul Quinn tested Dunn from twenty yards to produce a save from the young goalkeeper. He also denied David Cotterill's free-kick.It was then Yeovil's turn to test Turnbull's agility.Liam Davis headed the ball into his hands after a fast move by Ed Upson.

With ten minutes to go,things turned sour.Furman had scored a goal earlier on,but went in late on Ed Upson. The result was a second yellow card produced by Stuart Attwell. But it didn't ruin much and with six minutes left,DUFFY scored a twenty five yard free-kick which evaded everyone, including Dunn who tried to deflect the ball.

Four minutes of stoppage time produced nervy moments for Rovers as a result of Yeovil's desperation.James Hayter Reid to head a neat ball but Turnbull was fully stretched to catch it.Joe Ralls had the last chance of the match, firing over.

VIEWS FROM THE TOUCHLINE

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV

"The win was very important for us considering it was five games without a victory for Doncaster. When Jamie McAllister got injured, that had potential to disrupt our flow of momentum in the first half and we seemed shaken."

"The second half we weren't as impressive to start and Furman's red card could've impacted us badly. However,we held on to win and I'm proud."

TURNBULL CONFIDENT ABOUT YEOVIL MATCH

Goalkeeper Ross Turnbull has given his views and thoughts on the upcoming Championship match against Yeovil on Friday.

Yeovil sit bottom of the League, with Doncaster two points from the drop zone at the time of writing.

"It is live on Sky TV which means lots of people will be watching it.I played for Chelsea and had gotten used to the cameras,as Chelsea were pretty much live somewhere on TV.It's a normal game to us-we don't care too much about the publicity."

"Yeovil were promoted with us last season. There are several good teams in the Championship and if they want to gain something, they have to put 110% effort into every match. We know it's a tough game with both teams wanting to improve form at this stage of the campaign."

OPPONENTS GUIDE #16:YEOVIL TOWN(H)

Doncaster take on relegation candidates Yeovil Town this Friday at 7:45pm,in what should be an easy win for Doncaster against the Glovers.

It's been a real dream decade for Yeovil. They won the Conference title in 2003(the same year Donny went up through the playoffs) to earn promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history, and in the 2003/04 season the club finished outside the Division Three playoffs on goal difference, only to be promoted to League One in 2005.Coincidencially back in 2003,Yeovil were crowned champions at Belle Vue.

The last few years have seen Yeovil as relegation candidates in League One.But when Gary Johnson returned as manager they won the playoff final against Brentford 2-1-they were in the second tier for the first time in their history.

THE GROUND-HUISH PARK
Opened in 1990,the stadium holds up to 9,000 and 5,120 seated attendants. The ground has had no real developments over the last few years, but the most notable is the scoreboard installation over the away terracing. The record attendance here was 8,527 in 2010,against Leeds United.

THE GAFFER-GARY JOHNSON
Or,appropriately named,Magic Johnson.58-year-old Gary guided Yeovil to the Football League in 2003 and then to League One in 2005.He left the club shortly after for Bristol City, who he took within one match from the Premier League in 2008.Since his return to Yeovil in January 2012,he has bought talent with a tight budget and got Yeovil their third promotion-to the Championship.

SIX OF THE BEST

JAMIE McALLISTER-SUPER SCOT
Veteran Scottish right-back had spent six years at Bristol City after being signed by Gary Johnson in 2006.He rejoined Gary at Yeovil in January 2012 and has been club captain since he put pen to paper.

JOE EDWARDS-BRIZZLE BOY
Joe came through the ranks at his hometown club Bristol City and was known as a pacy defender with intellect. He made his debut for City in 2011.Now aged 23,he has experienced promotion and the highs of the Championship in his career despite being young.

ED UPSON-GOALS GALORE
Ed has the honour of scoring Yeovil's first ever Championship goal when he fired the winner away at Millwall back in August. He has since scored three more times for Yeovil and is a regular first-team member with Championship knowledge, having been a youth player at Ipswich.

JAMES HAYTER-RETURN OF THE HERO
James,34,is now stranger to Doncaster. His heading abilities were made good use of when he headed the winner against Leeds in the 2008 League One playoff Final to earn Doncaster promotion. He did the same thing this year for Yeovil at Wembley, from a corner as well! His six years at Doncaster, however, will always be remembered.

PADDY MADDEN-IRISH JIG
Paddy Madden was the surprise package for Yeovil last season, making his loan from Carlisle permanent in January. He scored virtually a goal every game for the Glovers and a volley in the Playoff Final against Brentford. He never got a chance at Carlisle due to constant injury problems, but has been present and needed ever since his move to Somerset.

SAM HOSKINS-NEW BOY
Sam is only 20,but has been to a majority of clubs in League One to try out at on-loan.He never got a chance to impress at Southampton where he'd been since the age of 15.Yeovil know he is slightly less experienced than the other forwards, but he will need to learn quickly.

RÖSLER ON THE SECRET POLICE

Brentford manager and former midfielder Uwe Rösler has spoken of how he waa asked to spy the secret police whilst growing up in East Germany in the 1980s

The police asked Uwe to spy on some of his teammates, and he speaks about the experience at his home in Stockport.

"If you grew up in East Germany, you knew all too well people would watch you  everywhere you went.It put a lot of pressure on me and I feared my career as a player would be over to work for the secret police."

"I spoke to my dad.He told me to see my coach and he sorted it out."

The Berlin Wall came down in November 1989.It bought political changes to Germany as a whole.Uwe knows this well.He also talked about today's players and the challenges they face.

"The change in politics opened the gate to many opportunities that I never had,but I'll admit players today face harder challenges than my childhood had.I was so focused and was rarely disturbed in developing as a player."

"Being bought up surrounded by communism I wasn't really pampered or spoilt rotten as to speak. The players today are expected more of,and that's challenging. However, the fact there was a wall splitting Germany has impacted our world."

WHO'S GOING TO BRAZIL?

As it is well known already,Brazil are hosting the 2014 World Cup and have automatically qualified for next summer's tournament.European qualifying in the groups has also finished with some surprise packages off to soak up the sunshine.

This a guide to the teams who've qualified so far.
Japan dominated their group in the Asian groups and qualified in late June. They were joined shortly after by Australia, who have since sacked their head coach. The last time the Socceroos were in the World Cup,they ended up third in their group in South Africa.

Iran have been the surprise team to qualify, finishing second in their group under the leadership of former assistant to Alex Ferguson,Carlos Quieroz.South Korea finished top.
Europe have had some new faces joining the above countries in the pot.England are already on their way there, with Bosnia and Herzegovina joining shortly beforehand thanks to the goals of Edin Džeko. As always,Louis Van Gaal's Netherlands rounded up as top of their group and Germany never cease to fail along with the Azzuri(Italy).Euro 2012 and 2010 World Cup winners Spain will go into the finals with the reassurance that Vincente Del Bosque is staying as coach.

However,it has been a Belgium team inspired by the likes of Premier League talents Vincent Kompany,Kevin Mirallas,Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku who go to Brazil, despite losing a recent friendly.Russia will host the competition in 2018 and have ultimately embraced Fabio Capello's management skills. The introduction of younger players has helped-Nikolai Fayzulin is an example.

The last time Costa Rica were in the World Cup was in 2006,and they had host nation Germany in their group. They lost 4-2 to the giants. They will join Jürgen Klinsmann's USA in the draw for the World Cup group stages. The other nation from North America to be in the draw is Honduras. They have notably Wigan's Hendry Thomas in defence.
It is an all familiar affair to who's packing for Brazil next summer-Argentina.Their last campaign saw them crash out at the hands of Germany but they would like to avoid demolition like that again. The other two to join are Ecuador with Antonio Valencia a regular starter and Colombia, who will be known for Falçao's slick skills and tricks.

ROVERS DO CHILDREN IN NEED

The players and managerial staff at Doncaster Rovers have all helped to raise money for Children in Need by visiting the Bluebell Wood Hospice. It was their some of the players recognised a familiar season ticket holder keen Rovers supporter Kian.

Allow the staff to explain why he's so special:

Kian was one of the first children to use Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, or the House to be specific, previous to the opening of the House we had the home care service and from the first day the support has been unbelievable. Kian has a condition called Lissencephaly, epilepsy and cerebral palsy. This means he can’t talk or walk he also has difficulty eating food but is able to eat pureed food.

Despite Kian’s limitations he is a happy sociable boy, who has a continual smile on his face, he absolutely loves football, especially Doncaster Rovers. However, he has very specific medical needs, which can sometimes be exhausting for our family. Kian often only has 2 hours sleep in a 24 hour period, which leaves us with no sleep, and shattered. Because of his condition, it’s difficult for our extended family to care for him, and that’s where Bluebell Wood comes in.

The staff at Bluebell Wood are our extended family, Bluebell Wood offers so much more than respite care for us and Kian. They don’t just focus on the child; it’s about the whole family.

The support the Hospice offers not only to Kian but all of the Family is, well, it’s beyond words. Kian’s brothers Dan and Callum also attend the Bluebell Wood sibling groups, where they get together with other siblings from the Hospice. These monthly groups take the kids out to special places, giving them fantastic opportunities which we couldn’t do otherwise. It enables the siblings to be part of the Hospice were the focus is fun.

Bluebell Wood is a lifeline for our family; if it wasn’t there it would be like losing a family member.

Currently the cost or running the Hospice and offering the support to families is in excess of £3 million a year, the only revenue the Hospice receives is from fund raising, the Hospice gets no help with any running costs from any Government agencies which to me is beyond belief.

The Hospice cannot function without the help and generosity of individuals, companies and organisations. This is where we would like to thank Doncaster Rovers for their help and support.

Recently Rovers signed a player on a non-contract basis, namely Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, who ever thought this up to me is an absolute genius. Louis is a patron of Bluebell Wood and is using his fame to promote the profile of the Hospice and help generate funds. I know Louis is touched by the support that the Hospice offer to families. Louis also supports his local football team and on this occasion is using his fame to promote and generate funds for our Club.

Rovers' boss Paul Dickov said,"It's a fabulous project for both the children and families to be a part of.It is clear to see the children here are happy and the advantage is the families get a break from stress that caring for their child can have."

"Louis has done great things for the charity and as a patron of the hospice he is a key role model in the scheme.I met Kian and he was so happy to see me as he is a keen fan of the club.As the father of three children,I know how his family feel but he very much so loves the sport. The love he has for football makes him the bubbly kid he is."

McCombe is taking it slowly to getting back to play but it still isn't over yet.

BARNSLEY 0-0 DONCASTER

Doncaster Goalkeeper Ross Turnbull proved to be the match's hero and ensured his team went back with a point in a match the Tykes dominated.

The major drama came when Bongani Khumalo tripped up Danish forward Marcus Pedersen in the six-yard area after 17 minutes. The penalty kick was to be taken by Chris O'Grady. However,Ross Turnbull dived to his far right to tip the ball wide, much to the 1900 fans' delight. On twenty two minutes,David Perkins fired a shot at Turnbull.

Rovers created some chances next.Mark Duffy whipped in a free-kick for Khumalo who headed wide of the goal. The away side looked resolute in defending-Luke McCullough only just cleared Pedersen's low strike and just before half time, prolific midfielder Paddy McCourt ran with great speed, the same couldn't be said about his finish.

Doncaster came out in the second half as a more attacking side.Mark Duffy ran into the box to meet Chris Brown's cross but David Fox intervened. On fifty minutes,Theo Robinson had his header blocked by what would could've been an addition to the Doncaster backline over the summer-Jean-Yves M'Voto.

M'Voto is tall but has a disadvantage when it comes to finishing. He missed three chances from sixty to seventy minutes. The first was a header, the second he missed from Wiseman's corner and the last was straight at Turnbull. He provided for O'Grady on seventy three minutes who missed the target.

The last chance of the match fell to Tom Cywka but the Pole headed over.A vital point for Doncaster on derby day but Barnsley stay unbeaten.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

DONCASTER BOSS PAUL DICKOV:
"Duffy was injured in the match with a suspected broken rib but we will know for definite how bad it is when he's had the X-Ray done.We seem to be plagued by injuries."

"It really was not how I want the tema to play the game but we did work hard to draw.I was upset to see we did not play with enough attacking mentality."
