BIRMINGHAM SIGN COTTERILL FROM DONCASTER

Birmingham City have signed Doncaster Rovers midfielder David Cotterill on a two-year-deal from July 1,reuniting with Mark Duffy.

Cotterill,26,has become the eight signing for Lee Clark's side.

Cotterill joined Doncaster in 2012 on a free transfer and was a part of the League One winning team.He has described the move to Birmingham on the website.

"Doncaster wanted to renew the contract, I spoke to the chairman there and the manager actually rang me after my medical here and he wished me all the best."

"It ends on good terms. They want me to do well and it's just that I don’t want to go down to play League One again.

"Birmingham are a massive club, they get a lot of fans here week in week out and it's got great ambition here as well."

"Being in the Championship and being closer to home made sense to come here and play in front of big crowds."
