COTTERILL:'MY CAREER WAS IN TATTERS'

David Cotterill has admitted that before he joined Doncaster Rovers,his career was going nowhere.

Cardiff-born Cotterill,25,made his professional debut for Bristol City as a 16-year-old in 2004.He made 62 appearances for the Reds.

He then made a 'dream move' to Wigan in 2006 but never established himself as a good top-flight midfielder and was loaned out to Sheffield United in January 2008.He made a total of 56 appearances under Kevin Blackwell and scored 4 times.

He signed for Welsh club Swansea in 2010 and adapted himself quickly.However,his career took a turn for the worst here.

'My wife Sasha was subject to death threats from Cardiff fans.I feared for the safety of her and my little boy,so I told her to avoid watching me at home games to be safe',Cotterill said.

Following spells at Portsmouth and Barnsley,the Welshman signed on a free transfer for Donny in July 2012 along with Robbie Blake.He has been a regular since.
